Hong Kong creative culture

It’s a hot, humid day and I’m craving caffeine. So I head to Smoko, an industrial-chic coffee bar (standing room only) for a cold-brew coffee sweetened with cucumber syrup, crafted by a woman so stylish I’m momentarily self-conscious of the fact I’m dressed head-to-toe in quick-dry material. Sipping my Asian-inspired drink, I turn back toward the noisy street in search of a dai pai dong (a street-side food stall) for lunch. This is Hong Kong, a city that has inspired countless kung fu movies and somehow manages to balance old-school tradition with stylish sophistication. Wandering its alleyways and discovering its hidden treasures, you’ll simultaneously step back in time and step into the future.
